At 14 years old, my father was deported, and due to that event, my life was dramatically changed. I moved around from place to place, but I was determined to get out of my situation. I pressed through and overcame my struggles. I managed to graduate high school on time in 2008. I went on to receive an associate's degree from El Centro Community College in 2011. In December 2020, I graduated with a Bachelor's degree in Communication from the University of Texas of the Permian Basin. I am proud to say that I am the first one in my family to have obtained a higher education. I want to use my life to inspire so many. I believe the person who says, "I can" and the person who says, "I can't" are both right. I want to help others reach their full potential.
