Verónica Rodríguez-Collazo has worked in the field of education for 22 years. Started her career as a teacher in her native Puerto Rico, where she taught in Bilingual and English Immersion Programs for 14 years. In 2011, she moved to Texas where she has worked for Fort Worth ISD and Lewisville ISD in Dual Language and World Languages Programs. Her teaching experience includes both elementary and middle school. She currently serves as a Language Arts and Social Studies Learning Facilitator for grades K-2, a role that allows her to write curriculum and to provide job-embedded coaching and training to teachers in numerous monolingual and dual language campuses across the district. She graduated with a BA in K-3 Education from the University of Puerto Rico. She also completed the Graduate Program of Translation from the same university and a Master in Elementary Education from Cambridge College in Boston, MA. Her passion and daily work revolve around promoting bilingual literacy and supporting teachers in the implementation of effective language development practices.
