Theresa Young

Theresa Young began her career on the Pacific island of Saipan, in the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands. During her 4 year tropical adventure, she worked with multilingual students and families. Collaborating with native language speakers, she coordinated a team of speech language pathologists who developed assessment and intervention practices for Pacific Islanders. Upon returning to Canada Theresa has pursued her interest in culturally and linguistically responsive practice in her work with students and families in highly diverse urban schools and rural First Nation communities. Her clinical practice has included preschool, school age and adult populations in education, health and community settings. Theresa has also taught English to children and adults in Saipan, Canada and Israel. Her collaborative spirit has led to professional development and publications with colleagues in Canada and the United States.
