Come be inspired and learn about the history of California’s movement for bilingual education and English learners. Author Laurie Olsen will share stories of advocacy from her new book on the complex, contentious and courageous efforts that have shaped EL education in California. Advocates’ lessons learned from those battles are offered to inspire new generations of advocates, activists and leaders equipped to understand the complex dynamics of the present supported in the knowledge of the movement’s resilience through hard times.
