Standing together and learning together means understanding what our neighbors are doing: those who work in first language acquisition, second language acquisition, and literacy. It means taking advantage of the wisdom and experiences of teachers and students, and paying attention to traditional and non-traditional research. Reports from all these areas come to similar conclusions! This knowledge, however, is not shared because of the cost of books and journals, and tortured academic writing styles. We can solve these problems.
