This presentation discusses the culturally responsive attitude/approach needed during distance and/or hybrid learning. FOUR stands for Flexibility, Organization, Understanding, and Respect. Each concept will be discussed from a personal teacher's narrative using literature for support. Not only does this approach allow all students to grow academically, but it also encourages students to build community, empathy, and respect for one another, as well as for the teacher, especially for students from culturally and linguistically minoritized backgrounds. Additionally, this teaching/learning attitudinal approach allows the teacher to ameliorate anxiety related to distance and/or hybrid learning.
