How do we use project-based learning (PBL) and STEAM to transform pedagogical spaces for English Learners? By having students study real-world topics such as DACA, DREAM Act, Black Lives Matter, gender and ethnic inequities within STEAM, and more. This session introduces an innovative PBL/STEAM framework centered around student agency and action research. Participants will explore PBL/STEAM through the lens of equity, inclusion, and social justice. The presenter is a published author on PBL and transformative practices. Sample PBL/STEAM projects and resources will be provided.
