This workshop focuses on supporting Dual Language Learners' metalinguistic awareness through contrastive analysis. Particular emphasis is placed on phonological, syntactic and morphological systems of English and Spanish and how they can be harnessed to meet the demands of content area literacy. Participants in the workshop will try out strategies and walk away with practical tools to enhance their instruction and student learning.
