Asset-based approaches centered on equity can empower Latinx parents through communication, resources, knowledge, and ways their children access technology. Presenters will share results of a three-year project that transformed how parents of English Learners in dual language education engaged with teachers and families through an empowering experience with mobile technology. Trainers will present processes, outcomes and artifacts involving families prior to and during COVID-19 distance learning. Bilingual teacher candidates were also involved in this community endeavor, as part of their credential program curriculum.
