As educators, we are always in position of leadership be it in the classroom, the school, the district or the community at large. We are charged with the task of closing opportunity gaps for our English Learners, SLIFE (Students with Limited Interrupted Formal Education), Dual Language and Culturally Diverse students daily. This session will be interactive and focus on how language use by educators, both verbal and non-verbal, both through instruction and policy, contribute to closing and/or widening the opportunity gaps for our students.
